My dream photoshoot with Taylor from Gold Horse Photography

I think it goes without saying that all of us equestrian’s want to capture our love, bond, trust and connection with our horses and having it captured behind a lens is something that we will cherish for a lifetime.

I’ve been a long time fan of Taylor’s work, having followed her since she was @taylormargaret and having always dreamed of one day working with her. We connected earlier this year and she graciously customized a package for us to capture everything that was on my list; black background for Stuie, horse & rider and branding. Of course, I booked our session and immediately started planning. I had so many visions in my head, an album saved on my phone of “photo inspiration”, Taylor’s questionaries and my dear friend Jen (@jtogo) who I conferred outfit and pose ideas with almost on a daily basis.

A month or so prior to the shoot, Taylor and I had a zoom meeting to connect and discuss the finer details of the branding portion of our shoot. To my surprise, Taylor had put together a beautiful mood board, prop and shot list that was tailored specifically to OM & The Equestrian. The extra attention to detail on my little brand that hadn’t even launched yet made me feel so special. By the time it was shoot day and Taylor arrived at the barn, I literally felt like I was getting together with an old friend. Taylor is a true master of her craft, she is so down to earth, patient, kind, made me feel supported throughout planning and our entire shoot day, brought my visions to life and is worth every bit of the investment.

This photoshoot was a dream in every way possible and I am eternally grateful for all of the support that I had from Taylor, from my unicorn boyfriend, Cory, who spent the day out at the barn helping out everywhere possible, Robyn (@robynsnestfarm) for letting us use the entire farm for the day, Jen Press Marden (@jtogo) for being such a positive beam of light in my life, and Kendal & F.WORDS gear (@fwordsgear) for sponsoring outfits, I love their collection and it is always an honor to wear F.WORDS gear.

And of course, Stuart. I don’t have adequate words to describe how much I love him, how fantastically he behaved for his first ever photo shoot and how much of a true professional ham he was all day long. He has changed my life in all the best ways. While our partnership hasn’t always been the easiest, I’m grateful for the lessons and the ebbs and flows as he has taught me to believe in myself, how to persevere, how to be a horse(wo)man, my WHY for OM & The Equestrian and my everyday reason to DO and BE better.

Until next time, be well.
